📰 【Super Junior-M’s ZHOUMI Appointed CEO of SM–Tencent Joint Venture】
Super Junior-M member ZHOUMI has been appointed CEO of the China-based joint venture established by SM Entertainment and Tencent.
On August 27, SM Entertainment announced that it had established STE, a joint venture with Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME) in Beijing, China, and appointed ZHOUMI as its CEO.
STE was established based on the business partnership agreement signed between SM and TME in May last year. The two companies’ plans to jointly develop a new Chinese idol group will also be carried out through STE.
STE will oversee a new Chinese idol group project aiming to debut within the next two to three years. Its responsibilities will cover everything from auditions and artist casting to local management in China after the group’s debut.
In addition, STE will also be responsible for the local activities of SM Entertainment’s Chinese artists.
In particular, STE will take full responsibility for the China-based management of NCT DREAM’s RENJUN and WayV’s YANGYANG and XIAOJUN, including local promotions and support for their entertainment activities in China.
ZHOUMI, who has spent many years working as a singer in both China and South Korea, has been appointed CEO of the joint venture.
He has been active as both a member of Super Junior-M and a solo artist, and most recently also served as a director of SM Entertainment’s Chinese subsidiary.
