@TWOweather GFS is becoming such a crap forecaster, how can a high with a pressure of 1055mb with densely packed cold air be so easily shifted just 24 hrs later?! 🤔
@TWOweather Think you've gone beyond negative! Just looked at the computer models and Good Friday and Saturday are looking widely settled and reasonably sunny as opposed to your prediction of just the south getting the fine weather, Sunday isn't too bad until late in the day! 🤔🤔☀️😎
@MattHugo81 @wales_weather The latest GFS run puts the high pressure slap bang over the UK this weekend, with western areas best for the sun and warmer temperatures, high teens across Ireland and western Scotland, then it brings in lower pressure off the Atlantic the week after Easter.
@TWOweather There is certainly a split in forecast models.
ECM, GEM and Icon keeping a moist, mild SW flow over over the Easter weekend.
GFS, GEFS and UK met office, going with a broader area of high pressure over the UK, with dry days!
Interesting to see what plans out, the latter please!
@MattHugo81 @anthonyburden2 I don't think it's massively faltered, just that ICON has the position of the storm tracking a little further south than say the GFS or GEM models. I wouldn't write it off and it's been the better model this winter. Heavy widespread snow across Northern England is still possible.
@anthonyburden2 @MattHugo81 I saw the reliable ICON model earlier and it has blizzards across Northern England on Friday, even at low levels away from the coast. ICON has performed well this winter so far, so I'm surprised the Met office haven't used this in their guidance. 🤔
@TWOweather I wonder what will occur in the world's weather after the volcanic eruption in the South Pacific? Surely this will have huge implications, whatever happens!
@MattHugo81 Think this eruption will dramatically change the world's weather, it might very well induce a rapid SSW with the amount of energy pumped high into our atmosphere.
@KDBraddy @MattHugo81 I understand, but the seasonal models didn't support a cold, white Christmas in November. Most point to a cold and snowy February, but we will have to wait to see if their predictions are right.
Stunning cloud inversion on Beinn Bhuidhe, yesterday! Just the final 20-30 metres of the summit was beautifully clear, on a bright carpet of wispy clouds! #Scotland#HIGHLANDS#munros#mountains#cloudinversion
