@CoachW_Edwards Agree on the big guys and 40's. Also, why are 40's run from a 3pt stance when none of the skill guys are ever in a 3pt? Feel like it penalizes the taller kids (e.g. my son π)
@angrysteveworld@NUMensBball@IndianaMBB If the exercise is to base on "peak" season of a player, then you can make an argument. In terms of career achievement, Shurna is best forward we've had (and I don't really know if he's a 3 or a 4).
@westlotpirates Collins has done a nice job & kudos on making NCAA tournaments, but the big jump in competitiveness was under Carmody, who had far less support from the administration. I wish people gave him more credit.
@COACH_PAPAS@fbmom2027 And there are plenty of bulk email/texts sent that say "I want to personally invite you". The problem is that it costs the coach/school nothing to do this, and kids/parents are generally in a bad position to know if they have serious interest.
@COACH_PAPAS I wish the NCAA put in a recruiting rule that made the schools identify how many kids they "invited". Without knowing that, families might spend lots of time & money doing camps, junior days, game visits when they are not really being recruited.
@BretonWes@WIVCFootball if seeding is accurate, 17 vs 48 should be a better matchup than 1 vs 32 (team strength follows a bell curve, the teams at extremes are further away than teams in the middle of curve). Pts 3 & 4 are spot-on. There will be less blowouts in new system, not more.
@DerekMcGowen55 Rd 1 games will be more competitive than current system because #17 & #48 are likely closer in ability than #1 & #32. Rd 2 games will be more competitive because teams 1-16 will either play the same team they play in current system or a team that beat that team.
@CoachGallik My impression is that now, more than ever, top kids are congregating at a select group of schools, motivated largely by athletics. Some at publics, but easier to do at privates.
"Taking my talents to South Beach" trend.
