i'm obsessed with what's happening in AI reforestation right now

this Franco-Brazilian startup called MORFO took a patch of land in Brazil that was rock-hard and compacted from years of cattle farming. they replanted it using a single drone. months later the ground was covered in grass, bushes, and small trees. the land came back to life.

here's how the whole thing works.

1. drones scan the terrain with high-resolution cameras and sensors
2. AI analyzes the imagery alongside soil samples, moisture levels, slope, and surrounding vegetation
3. the system picks from a catalog of 300+ native species, deciding exactly which plants will thrive in which specific spot
4. the drone fires biodegradable seed pods packed with seeds, nutrients, and moisture at 180 capsules per minute
5. satellite and drone imagery monitors regrowth over time, with AI tracking vegetation cover and biodiversity
6. two people and one drone cover 50 hectares a day. a person planting by hand manages about one hectare.

and MORFO isn't alone. AirSeed in Australia drops 250,000 seed pods per day into bushfire-scarred koala habitat, replanting swamp mahogany that koalas depend on to survive. Flash Forest in Canada fires 50,000 pods daily into wildfire-destroyed boreal forest, planning the replanting alongside Cree Indigenous communities. re-green won Prince William's Earthshot Prize after planting 6 million seedlings across 30,000 hectares of Amazon and Atlantic Forest.

five companies across four continents built this same approach independently. nobody coordinated. the physics of the problem demanded it.

knowing which seeds belong in which soil used to require years of ecological fieldwork, manual planting crews, and budgets that made large-scale restoration nearly impossible. now two people with a drone and an AI model trained on local soil data can replant 50 hectares before lunch.

this is the AI work that'll still matter in 50 years.

In John 2, Jesus turns water into wine, the first of his signs recorded in the Gospel of John. But why this miracle? Of all the things he could have done, why produce such an abundance of wine at a wedding feast?

To answer that, we have to go back to the Old Testament. The prophets often describe the coming Messianic age as a time overflowing with wine.

+In Genesis 49, when Jacob blesses Judah, he says his garments will be washed in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes. There's so much wine it’s as common as water.
+In Joel 3:18, the mountains “shall drip sweet wine.”
+In Isaiah 25:6, the feast of salvation is pictured with “well-aged wine…wine well refined.”
+In Amos 9:13, the mountains will drip with sweet wine and the hills will flow with it.

Throughout the prophetic literature, abundant wine is the symbol of the Messianic age when God comes to bless his people.

So when Jesus turns water into wine, he’s not just saving a wedding party from embarrassment or showcasing his power.

He’s declaring that the long-awaited Messianic age has arrived. The Bridegroom is here.

Pay careful attention to where the glory of God goes in the opening chapters of Ezekiel. If you are reading through the Bible with me, you will see in those early chapters that Ezekiel has a vision of terrible idolatry taking place in the temple of the Lord.

Because of this ritual pollutions, the glory of God departs.

The glory of God lifts up, goes to the threshold, and then exits the temple. The Lord departs to the east, to the mountain directly opposite the temple, which is the Mount of Olives.

God’s temple has been vacated by God.

But then, toward the end of Ezekiel, in chapter 43, the glory of God returns. It comes from the east, from the Mount of Olives, and enters back into the temple.

Now take that story from Ezekiel, where the glory of God exits and returns, and read it in light of the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.

Who is Jesus? He is the glory of God embodied. “The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us, and we have seen his glory” (John 1:14).

In Jesus, we see God’s glory revealed. As the glory of God, he rides into Jerusalem from the east, from the Mount of Olives, and then enters into the temple itself.

The glory of God has returned to Jerusalem, and that glory is Jesus Christ, the glory of God in the flesh for us.

The evening this photo was taken, Charlie and I were hounded by people in the audience who hurled hatred at me for being gay and Charlie for giving me a platform.

The crowd got unruly and rowdy, and afterwards we sat in a holding room waiting for our escort and car out.

I was shaken. I hadn’t experienced anything like it before. Charlie looked me directly in the eyes and said this: “God loves you, you are a part of this movement, and we’ve got your back.”

Charlie and TPUSA always did, though I was too deeply immature and new to the realities of being a public figure that I didn’t realize how much they actually did support and protect me in a myriad of different ways.

That is who Charlie Kirk was. I will not allow his humanity to be reduced to soundbites spread by people who never met him and want to use his Biblical beliefs as an excuse to paint him as a hateful, extremist caricature.

Charlie was about growing the movement. He always knew that politics is about addition and not subtraction. I am but one of the many public figures supported and created by Charlie.

This is why he will never be forgotten. This is why his legend and movement will only grow. It’s not that he was just a great man, but that he was also a good one. Few are both, but Charlie was.

There will be nothing that I do for the rest of my existence in public life that isn’t directly influenced by his belief in me when it mattered.
