30
That’s the age they warn us about
That’s the age they keep pointing at with dread.
Thats the expiry date of a young woman
Every woman born in 1996 now is quaking inside.
You dare not reach 30 and not be inside a mans house
Even if he is the weapon that will be fashioned against you
Even if he will chip at your spark gradually till you become dim
Just enter inside like that.
Thats what the life of a woman has been summarized to. The number 30.
That’s the age we all dread.
Just make it work. Somehow anyhow. Don’t reach 30 single.
That’s the dirty lie.
Dear woman approaching 30 or even past 30
First of all? How are you?
I hope you’re doing well. I hope your metal health is fine. I hope you know that you’re priceless in the eyes of your maker.
Your life does not expire at 30. Nor did your womb.
I know it’s scary. I know you tried to make relationships work. Even if it didn’t, it does not mean it won’t work.
I just want to tell you that you will be fine. You will. I don’t know your life’s story. But I know Jesus.
I know that He is never too late.
Keep trusting Him. Raise your head. Dress nice. Smell good. Serve your maker.
If your heart desire marriage, God will make it happen for you.
I love you. And I’m rooting for you.
Blessings!
Becoming: Life After @LDC_Uganda , When #School Ends and #Adulthood Begins.
One of the most defining introductions of a #lawyer to adulthood is that strange, quiet season after the #BarCourse but before the results are released. In that moment, you are no longer a student, but not yet a Bar Course #graduate. You are suspended in the in-between, that uncomfortable space where titles don’t fit, and answers don’t come easily.
There is the uncertainty of passing, the uncertainty of the next chapter. You are torn between staying home a little longer or stepping out to begin your own life, but with which resources? With what foundation? And with whose networks?
Often, the only real recourse is to hope against hope. To breathe through each day. To live one sunrise at a time, reminding yourself that this season, this confusion, this waiting, this tension will not last forever.
And it is okay. It is okay to be afraid of the uncertainty that follows school. It is okay to fear the unknown, because the unknown visits all of us. But here is the miracle, the unknown is often the doorway to an exciting adventure. The unknown is a quiet invitation to unprecedented growth.
So to the young lawyer asking, “What next after #LDC?”. Listen. Take time. Slow down. Seek the answer from God. He did not bring you this far to abandon you. He has invested too much in you to simply let you fall. And His grace will never carry you to a place it cannot sustain you.
So stand still. Take heart. Breathe. This in-between will not swallow you, it will shape you.
You are not lost. You are simply being introduced to adulthood in the language of destiny.
Once again, congratulations upon stepping into this new journey of becoming.

My heart is heavy this morning.
A young girl, Melissa, was murdered on her way back to school; her body mutilated and dumped in a swamp in Mukono.
When we speak about Gender-Based Violence, understand this isn’t just a campaign- Women are dying!!!

A lesson I wish I learned earlier: Anxiety feeds on idleness. You’re anxious because you’re not doing anything. When you take action, you starve anxiety of the oxygen it needs to survive. The answer is found in the action.
