@LeasaDonnelly So….whats the point then? Why the need to go down? Surely that’s the “irrelevant” part. If it’s a stonewall penalty regardless of everything else, what makes falling down before context a “normal attacker behavior.”? Do you mean, because that’s what they’re taught to do?
@LeasaDonnelly I’m not saying it wasn’t a penalty, whether he falls first or after contact. But the fact that he DOES clearly go down BEFORE he’s touched is worth talking about. Is that intentional? Is it a reflex to the incoming challenge? Is it years of being trained to go down in the box?
@JonathanWa53422@OllieAFCB Did I say they were a small club? Read my responses in this thread. My argument is whether the term “big club” is the right one if money, size, and history arent’ consistently reflected in league standings. Clearly it doesn’t translate into that like it used to.
@SandwichN17@OllieAFCB I guess we’ll see how you bounce back next season and after. I don’t disagree that these other clubs have had poor seasons historically, and given your vast resources, you should regain your footing. Smaller clubs are challenging this established status quo consistently though.
@tundetj@OllieAFCB I definitely don’t consider us to be a big club and that doesn’t bother me. I’m just pointing out that we shouldn’t be surprised when our players won’t to leave for what is largely driven by big money from a club with greater financial resources. No hate.
@SandwichN17@OllieAFCB I’m using quotations because being a big club, with all the might that comes with it, would always be reflected in league standings. You finished 17th in consecutive seasons and faced potential relegation until the final day. There has to be a better term than “big club.”
@JonathanWa53422@OllieAFCB Well, big clubs don’t usually have relegation battles and finish 17 in consecutive seasons so there has to be a better term we should be using if league position isn’t consistently influenced by the power of being a large, rich club.
@Cherryboy53@AddyFi I’ve never understood the “loyalty” complaint. Football is his career. He stayed with us for a great chunk of time, and is now moving on for much bigger wages and any other perk that comes with a “big club.” That’s football. That’s work. He was magnificent for us this season.
@_1903Alan@OllieAFCB Maybe we should have a different term for these clubs now because it used to be that all this might and power was also consistently reflected in their league positions.
@stuartroy23@OllieAFCB “Much bigger club” just say it’s money and we’ll all sleep a little easier. That’s modern football. Clubs like spurs can play dogshit year on year and still attract players because of their spending power…simple as that.
@tundetj@OllieAFCB So yeah, money, as usual. Easy to be sold on the other stuff when you can triple your wages on a long term deal. That’s modern football, no matter what we try to convince ourselves of.
@MufcDF1@kristemple All the more embarrassing for you that you couldn’t beat us even with a man advantage. The ref did his job by sending one of our players off and you still couldn’t do yours. 😂
@MufcDF1@kristemple You should probably be more hacked off that it took Bournemouth going down to 10 men and 35 minutes for Man United to only salvage a draw 😂😂
@DerekWayne1816@harryjsisson Words offered, but nothing but nonsense. Did you actually have a relevant point there or do you just find any opportunity to rim Daddy Trump publicly?
