Accelerator Physicist in CASA group at JLab. Past: RISP, Oxford, CERN, MYRRHA. Lived on 3 continents. Husband & father. Personal account, views my own. he/him
@physicscat0x7d I stopped counting at 300 failed applications. There were many more than that. Keep applying, start opening up what you consider an acceptable job, outside your comfort zone. Just keep going, and you'll land something
Excited to join the first State of Federal Labs event by @VAPenChamber! Showcasing @JLab_News & @NASA_Langley. Our nuclear physics and data science work drives discoveries, benefiting the nation and solidifying the Peninsula as a tech collaboration center. https://t.co/drA1qHTgga
Quite a set of accomplishments!
Not sure I'll ever make it to 35 years at @JLab_News, but I'll certainly try!
My "integrated time" is at ~12 years (May 2004 - December 2012 + February 2021 - present). Nothing like these all-time greats! I've learned so much from them!
Honoring 35+ years of dedication at Jefferson Lab! Meet the amazing employees who've been with us for over three decades. Their stories of commitment and passion inspire us every day. https://t.co/KbFjKQLI1b
Side task: I was asked to convert the PERLE lattice from a series of separate OptiM files into a single multipass Bmad file for a BBU study. The relevant sections are multipass, but the other sections would be a lot of work to clean up.

My family is awesome. Yuna ordered me a custom shirt (including the back of my head, Logan's head, Lucy's head, and Nibbler's head) based on the game I've been playing lately: Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Logan and Lucy made me awesome cards.
Happy Father's Day indeed!
@Andreadful_@PPapakonNucl Other than the example above? Pretty much anything outside of physics. And frankly, many of her physics hot takes aren't great either. She's a theorist, and tends to forget that experimentalists and applied physicists are also physicists, who have different and valuable insights.
Low-res versions of my three main-author poster contributions to #IPAC24 from my work at @JLab_News.
They all have QR codes to read the pre-prints.
Tomorrow, I'll be driving to Nashville!

@stephenjbrooks@JLab_News They do have a Gauss/Tesla option for units, but we need to enter a few variables so it can spit out the right numbers.
We will have to figure out how to do it, but it seems relatively easy. Hopefully
Our Helmholtz Coil finally arrived for our @JLab_News#LDRD project.
Now to learn how to use it.
It's exciting to be able to learn and do totally new things in #accelerator#science after so many years. This is one reason I got into #physics in the first place.
