@desslocktx@ManySuchCases Hughes is a would be demagogue. He uses whatever controvery du jour exists to keep his followerers enraged. He is another Rush Limbaugh. He is of the ilk who denigrated the children killed at Sandy Hook.
@TheWanderingAzn Nor is being Gay a sin. What are sins is supporting a man who is a theif, who uses the military to kill innocent girls, who lies and was proven in a civil suit to be a rapist.
@hannahf1776 Hannah is a bigot. But we don't call for "overturning bigots." Even when they turn out to be the very kind of person they get satisfaction from hating.
@Prairie_Crab@JesseHughesNC Hughes is another would be demagogue using sexual orientation to promote his ideology. Like any demagogue he will use whatever is the controversy du jour to promote himself.
@joshnaa2gez@Josiahnd3 It is a false use in your argument: 1) Diamond admits that genes are part of determing sexual orientation & 2) this talk is more about cultural & legal aspects of sexual orientation, not biological science.
@joshnaa2gez The reality is that genes contribute to sexual orientation. The science shows that both genetics, family birth order, population size and density contribute to setting sexual orientation.
@joshnaa2gez Diamond admitted that sexual orientation has a genetic component. The matter of fluidity makes sense for people who are bisexual. Not for people homosexual. How many "heterosexuals" turn out be fluid bisexuals. Poor video to use to support the false argument against genetics.
@bonchieredstate "Almost half the year" is blatantly false. Which makes the claim a lie. Why are you lying? Do you value dishonesty, falsehoods, deceitful language?
@catspath@bonchieredstate Your comment of "why ... as a nation" doesn't make sense. Gay Pride is not official. No holidays from jobs. No overtime. Any local, any organization can choose to be part of or not. So what is the nature of your distress?
@bonchieredstate What the politicians value is the political capital they generate among their supporters by encouraging hatred. A tainted, poisonous political capital. A kind of political capital that pits one group of people against another. The kind of political capital the is bad for demoracy
