I really, REALLY badly want a crack at some of the privately collected polling data from this election. Because I see a LOT of people concluding that the Dems need to be more centrist and at least my first impression of the publicly available data is EXACTLY the opposite 🤔
I worry that as economists we don't say this enough. Yes, we still teach free markets. But in modern economics, externalities, strategic incentives, and behavioral psychology aren't curiosities. They're everyday phenomena just as central to our field as the invisible hand.
