@1ikecrxzy He wrote a statement explaining he chose solo and why. Has done countless interviews saying it. The company obviously will only let him say certain things. He can't say the group name and none of them are allowed to say each others names. What more do people want?
Agreed. His sincerity shone through. I can only imagine how he felt when he realised what he had done. He took accountability and that's all we can ask of anyone. Well done Jungwon. Thank you to the Kazakhstan fans who addressed this so calmly and chose to educate rather than hate.
The documentary and Heeseung’s interviews tell a simple truth: the group and his solo ambitions could no longer coexist.
The dreams of the other six members matter just as much, and Heeseung made it clear he didn’t want to hold them back.
He said he had so much he wanted to show but didn’t want to prioritise his own ambitions over the team. He didn’t demand a solo debut. He shared his work with the company, spent a long time discussing the best path forward, and ultimately agreed with the direction the company proposed.
Artists are human. Sometimes they feel constrained and choose different paths, and that’s okay. It's not selfish.
As fans, let's be kinder to the artists and each other.
(his letter and interview below)
Not sure I'd say greed. I think situations are nuanced. I’ve been in a job where I lost myself and stayed too long for my team. Leaving showed me the truth: sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away. If you’re not happy, you’re not your best self, and staying doesn’t fix that.
@googiestims@SalmaAz95652689@DiagonalBiboc Yes it is and I'm sure it is for many. If they want to grow kpop to global audiences then companies may need to consider adapting their communication style as well.
@evanseungs Completly. It might end up an amazing b side. But I love how he's not holding back. He's excited to try new things. Love this new era for him.
@SalmaAz95652689@DiagonalBiboc I agree that they released statements but the artists not being able to say each others names and Evan not being able to say "enhypen" is really odd. And it's created a lot of false narratives which has lead to this toxic behaviour.
I love this. It is easy for us to say do both but that juggle is brutal. Plenty of artists who’ve done both have talked about how hard it is.
Heeseung said that while working on his music he realised how much he enjoyed being involved in every aspect. The doco showed he’s now both producer and artist. That level of creative control isn’t realistic alongside full group schedules.
Heeseung always gives his all. Even if he wanted to do both, he may have realised or been told that he couldn’t give his all to both at once. We’ll never know the full details, but we do know he made a difficult choice and went the solo path.
I love seeing the support Evan gets inside his company.
Senior management, coaches, producers, marketing - at every level they have real affection for him 🫳
After more than two years, an employee’s departing highlight was the Fillin’ Live and “seeing fans cheer for someone and love them unconditionally.”
Evan will never be the villain some people want him to be.
Keep shining, Evanie ✨
