NETUMBO CHECKED INTO LADY POHAMBA LAST WEEK FOR JOINT PROBLEMS |
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who is running for president of Namibia under the corruption-tainted Swapo party ticket, checked in at Lady Pohamba last week for joint and knee problems. Netumbo, who is 82, visibly struggles to walk and has fainted at least twice during the campaign.

NSA HIDDING STAGGERING UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS |

According to information seen by TWT, the 2023 census results show that 1,716,056 Namibians are without jobs. This is about 56.8% of the population, majority of whom are youth. Of these, nearly 600,000 were retrenched between 2019 and 2023, and more than 1 million are graduates. The NSA has said it will only release unemployment data after the election, but did not provide its reasons as it released all the other data from the census. Staff members of the NSA spoke to TWT on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to divulge the information.
