I'm looking forward to creating new memories with my students and hoping to make this year extra special to make up for all the time the kiddos spent away from school last year. Thank you in advance to anyone who decides to to support my classroom. 🤗https://t.co/9mTVaSeGUQ
@ASpiegel511 At the end students came back together with their group tables to discuss answer and coach each other. Finally they played one round of the game operations. Hope this makes sense!
@ASpiegel511 A lot of group table talking and planning took in place first. As a group table students worked together to diagnose the problem and followed the steps on QSSSA.
@ASpiegel511 After sharing what operation(s) was needed to diagnose the problem students independently took action to perform the surgery (operate as needed).
Using conceptual instruction to give students a solid understanding of multiplication. It takes time but it’s worth it! It also gives students the opportunity to use the strategy that works best for them. #iteachmath#4thgrade@MakeMathMoments@mashupmath
“Teachers should celebrate and encourage finger use among younger learners and enable learners of any age to strengthen this brain capacity through finger counting.” JoBoaler #iteachmath#iteach4th
To solve all operation word problems we played TeamBalloonRace. Students had to race to get the next word problem. The team with the lowest time at the end won! Simple, yet engaging! #iteachmath#iteach4th#BeTheWildCard
Today we played BalloonBounce. The engagement and motivation to work was impressive! Swipe to see how we incorporated TeamSoloShare and BalloonBounce while solving multi-step problems. #iteachmath#iteach4th#SHESShinesBright
Students battled it out in multiple rounds of x facts. Students raced each other to be the first team, with a correct completed wheel! #iteachmath#iteach4th inspired by https://t.co/jRPBbJFrMV
Rigor + engagement 😍 Students working hard during our Mega Math Lottery. Easy prep: Students solve a problem, if they get it right they get to write their initials on a number. We draw at the end for prizes (simple as dojo points). #iteachmath#iteach4th
