omg i let my little cousin use my mots army bomb for vegas which means that both my mots and v3 army bombs saw the return of the tannies before retirement😭😭
the funniest part about bts loving las vegas is that only like 10% of the crowd are local to the area bro everyone i talked to flew in 😭😭😭 like damn just one big stadium of people who really truly love bts
BTS had to change in hallways of AMAs during 2017 , Yoongi had cried before their performance because he was so scared. They didn't have any senior to go to for advice
During that time armys made sure to give them the loudest cheers , now they were treated like kings there. It was BTS & armys hardwork that made it possible
🐨 When Jin-hyung had finished enlistment, when I played the sax, we were all in a tough place. We met up at Jimin's place and we were still soldiers so we were having a tough time and we were all crying and they asked me to do my best to take hold of / lead the team.
🐨: First of all, before going into that...Right around the time Jin-hyung was discharged from the military—which was a year before the rest of us would be discharged—everyone’s mental state wasn't very good. So, when Jin-hyung got discharged, and around the time I played the saxophone... after his discharge, we all gathered together. I can’t quite remember if it was at Jimin’s house or my house... wait, I think it was Jimin’s house. We all gathered at Jimin’s place, and ah...
🐨: At that time, Jungkook was also going through a really tough period. Well, we were all having a hard time since we were all still active-duty soldiers (private first class). Jungkook was crying his eyes out, saying that as the older brother, I needed to work harder to hold the team together. We talked about things like that, and we had a lot of deep conversations among ourselves.
🐨: So we said, 'Alright then, since everyone is waiting for us, let's make an album as soon as we return and repay those who have been waiting.' I think that's when we roughly decided on a plan. And since all the members' discharge dates are clustered in June, the timing lined up well. I think we started setting up the song camp from the end of that year. Then the question became: who should be the 'captain' of this song camp?
🐨: To be honest, the term 'song camp' is a bit of Konglish (Korean-English). In English, it's usually called a 'session.' I was very used to sessions because I had done them with about 30 to 40 people within HYBE during my RPWP (Right Place, Wrong Person) album. I'm sure Jungkook and Hobi have experience with them firsthand too.
🐨: When it comes to sessions, there are sessions where the artist themselves participates, but in this industry, there are also 'pre-sessions' where the singer isn't directly involved—creating things that fit that specific musical world.
🐨: So, we decided that we would go to LA in July and August, gather together, and hold those sessions. I think we made that decision around the turn of the year, though I don’t remember the exact timeline. I remember I was really looking forward to that time, wishing it would come quickly.
🐨: Since each of us had been doing so many different genres and so many different things for over ten years, the goals or direction each of us envisioned were different. And it wasn't just us—the fanbases' thoughts were different, the thoughts of the members here were different, and the thoughts of the representatives from the relevant departments were all different too.
🐨: There was just no narrowing it down. Personally, the hardest part for me was that there wasn't a clear "captain" this time. A leader or a boss who could firmly pull things forward and declare, "This is right" or "That is wrong." But given the situation, it was really difficult for that to happen.
🐨: So, it was very tough. To be honest, we ended up making this album without having a set path beforehand. Because of that, when the album came out, I completely expected that opinions would be divided…starting with the title track itself.
🐨: But as a player participating in this, I honestly think it's a miracle that this album even came out at all. The very fact that it was released feels like a miracle to me. Whether people feel it's lacking, whether there's mixed reception, or if people don't like it…the fact that we came back together here, released a studio album as promised, and are carrying out performances and a tour again...
🐨: Of course, this and that might be disappointing; everything has its shortcomings. I feel those shortcomings too. But really, for us to make it through without a single member dropping out, without anyone getting sick, or without anyone creating an issue... safely.
🐨: And now, thanks to all of you, our scale has grown so much. If we don't plan the scheduling for making an album and managing it at least a year to a year and a half in advance, we can't even move forward. That's because so many people move together with us. It's not a situation where we can just say, "Hey, let's do it this way and make it happen." It just didn't work like that.
🐨: So it was a project that was incredibly, incredibly difficult to make. If there's a sense of disappointment or something along those lines that you all are feeling, it's probably due to the lack of a strong central focal point, or a "captain." I think that's what it is.
🐨: But it couldn't be helped, and we had to release this so that when we gather together again someday to create something, we can move past this—even if it feels somewhat disorganized and mixed with so many different elements.
🐨: Right now, honestly, regarding all the members... one of the things I think is our current strength and weakness—well, actually, it’s a strength—is that all the members are very careful. They are very considerate of one another. Because nobody wants to break this huge... this huge and very close relationship, everyone is extremely cautious. If a member expresses that they dislike something even a little bit, everyone tends to try and respect that.
🐨: But the problem is, because of that, we can never narrow things down to just one decision. Like, maybe two people don't want to do something, four people think it’s fine, and one person doesn’t really care and says they'll just go along with whatever the others choose.
🐨: Because of this, even before getting discharged from the military, I had a hunch that the entire process—from making the album, releasing it, putting on concerts, and doing the tour—would start and end with how we make these decisions. And that hunch was right, in the end. So, out of the tracks we had from that pre-session, we weeded a few out…
