Gatineau QC’s Album are back with their sophomore release “Portrait De L’Artiste.” It’s seriously a stop-what-you’re-doing-and-listen record and you should do that right now. https://t.co/Oz2j0TDL4i

thoughts for shaping a city; one of the very few diy venues in montreal was shut down today because of noise complaints. we need to fight for noise politics. to make people understand the value and importance of loud forms of culture. before condos rule.
bandcamp editorial being gutted is particularly dark because some of the smartest writers and editors were over there covering scenes that *nobody* else would. 1 of the last music pubs that demonstrated unabashed curiosity, that treated music as an endlessly expanding world.
in times where opportunities and platforms actually allowing artists to have financial control are disappearing more and more, the collapse of Bandcamp is particularly dreadful. Solidarity with all wonderful staff that's been laid off.
I’ll be speaking at this today. It’s free so you don’t have to pay to hear me complain about promoters who try to put our free lodging as an expense so they can keep that money on the back end.

there is a difference between solitude and selfhood, while both have to do with change. selfhood, like desire, is an active behaviour. it resides in becoming yourself, versus being yourself, it implies to grow, to learn how, to transform.
TINY DESK WITH @FKAtwigs 🤍🕯

i wrote about the fantastical new album from mui zyu, 'rotten bun for an eggless century,' for pitchfork! a really wonderful debut that understands how to use dissonance in a pop context
