Understanding Why Drew Starkey’s PR Run Strongly Suggests He Has Been Cast as Cyclops

He did a bicoastal PR run. San Diego Comic Con July 23, and appearances on both Today and Tonight July 30.

This is how studios test actors for major roles if the actor doesn’t have too much experience with big-time live appearances.

Half of the job in accepting a role like this is doing interview after interview after interview (Henry Cavill joked he performed Superman for free and took the salary as compensation for the stress of the publicity run; Chris Evans did not want to accept Captain America because of the publicity run.)

If Starkey was indeed in New York promoting Lucky, he would have appeared when the show dropped, as Anya Taylor-Joy did with The View on July 16.

Taylor-Joy, the above-the-title star of Lucky, did a single talk show appearance.

Booking a Lucky supporting actor, nearly three weeks after the premiere, on both flagship talk shows on NBC would be impossible for someone of Starkey’s stature unless the booking was done with a carrot in front of it, like an incipient Marvel casting announcement.

Disney would not have used ABC’s talk shows because it would be too obvious.

pareggio tra Damon e Bonnie lol ho fatto il test due volte per vedere se riuscivo a spareggiare ma niente da fare, è venuto fuori lo stesso risultato... comunque non posso lamentarmi perché sono i miei personaggi preferiti per un motivo a quanto pare 🤙🏻
