Here’s capping mindset thing to consider. I believe that when we handicap we may quite often bet on runners we WANT to win, in other words we will look at a race and make a pick but that pick is who we would be rooting for, roots get in the way sometimes.

Here’s another way to put it. You have a horse you’ve followed and have good trip notes, but horse gets into a race he can’t realistically win, but you want him to win because you’ve got these notes and you think that horse has talent.
