We can hope for economic justice or we can fight for it.
I am fighting for #SB679 because Angelenos deserve affordable housing. #CALeg

Huge news.
The L.A. City Council just unanimously voted to endorse LACAHSA with amendments.
We want to recognize @MikeBonin, Marqueece Harris-Dawson @mhdcd8, and Nury Martinez @cd6nury for supporting this bill that would make housing more affordable across L.A. County.
ACTION ALERT 🚨 SB 679 will create a single agency, called LACAHSA, that can directly address our affordable housing shortage and lack of renter protections in communities across L.A. County.
Believe it or not—this is something we’ve never had before in L.A. County.
It’s unanimous!
The city of Long Beach just endorsed the L.A. County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (SB 679) because it will bring affordable housing and resources to our community.
@Rendon63rd you see this?
This service is not only beneficial to the animals' health, but also provides our unhoused neighbors with needed services for anyone with a pet family member.

LOVE this 💙
Shout out to @FixLongBeach and Sparky and the Gang for creating Paw Street Outreach, an initiative that's providing free spay and neutering services to the pets of people experiencing homelessness.

📢 Hey #LongBeach! 📢
Long Beach City Council is meeting August 17th to talk about SB 679 (agenda item #21). And we need to make sure they support it!
What would SB 679 (aka LACAHSA) do in Long Beach?
(THREAD)
It would:
🏠 Preserve and build housing that working families and individuals can afford
🏠 Protects hundreds of thousands of renters from unjust evictions, rent increases, and landlord harassment
“The number of evictions has accelerated in 2021 – and they are happening despite a series of moratoriums...that are supposed to protect people who were barely scraping by when the pandemic made... them unable to pay rent.”

Every city in L.A. County should take a cue from Long Beach’s recently released Housing Element for 2021-2029: Don’t wait—innovate.
