🔥The full version of the Resident Evil 4 Remake co-op mod is now in development.

Mod creator claybtv shared a sneak peek at the new lobby he’s currently working on. Your friend will be able to join you there before starting a chapter.

🎯In the lobby, you’ll be able to pick your character and starting loadout, visit the Merchant before a mission, choose a chapter, and change the settings.

A beta version of the mod is already available for those who missed it, so you can already play Resident Evil 4 Remake online with a friend. Just keep in mind that it’s still a test version.

ふ～ど本を読んで、格闘ゲームのプロプレイヤーに思う事。

EWC。

これだけ賞金規模が大きくなってくると、トップクラスの選手であれば、ゲームで勝つことによって生活するだけではなく、場合によってはある程度の人生設計までできるようになってきたのかもしれません。
これは昔の格闘ゲームの世界から考えると、ものすごい変化だと思います。

賞金大会やスポンサー、配信、イベントなど、プレイヤーがお金を得られる場所がなければ、プロはそこには集まりません。
趣味なら面白いゲームをずっと遊び続けることができますが、プロにとってゲームは遊びであると同時に仕事でもあるからです。
その意味では、EWCのような大きな賞金が用意される大会が存在することは、プロにとって非常に大きな意味があると思います。

だからこそ、少し不安があります。

野球やサッカーなどのプロスポーツでは、基本的に競技そのものは変わりません。
野球選手が5年後に突然「野球2」というルールになりました！新しく５塁まで出来ました！ピッチャーは２人になりました！来年からはこちらで競技してください、と言われることはありませんｗ
ところが格闘ゲームでは、それが普通に起こります。

ゲームメーカーは新作を発売して大会を開催する。
トッププレイヤーが競い合い、多くの人がそれを見る。ゲームに興味を持った人が新しく入ってきて、アップデートや追加キャラクターによって長く遊んでもらう。
メーカー、選手、ユーザーの関係がうまく回っている間は、非常に良い循環になります。

しかしメーカー側からすると、一つのゲームを永遠に運営することはできません。
5年、6年と経てば商品として古くなっていきますし、アップデートや追加キャラクターだけで売上を維持することにも限界があります。
会社である以上、次の商品を作って売らなければなりません。

そこで新しいゲームが作られます。

新作になればゲームシステムが変わり、キャラクターが変わり、求められる技術も変わります。

つまり格闘ゲームのプロは、普通のスポーツ選手のように「勝ち続けられるか」という競争だけではなく、数年ごとに「自分が人生をかけている競技そのものが変わる」というリスクまで抱えていることになります。

しかも、そのタイミングを決めるのは選手ではなくメーカーです。

メーカーにとって新作を作ることは当然の経営判断ですし、古いゲームに永久に賞金を出し続けることも現実的ではありません。
メーカーがプロ選手の人生まで保証することはできないのが現実だと思います。
そういう意味では高橋名人の様な企業プロは時代が生んだ物だったのかもしれませんね。

ただ、プロシーンをゲームの魅力としてメーカー側も利用している以上、選手がそこで積み上げたものを、ゲームが変わるたびに全部ゼロにしてしまわない仕組みは考える必要があると思います。

大会で勝つことだけではなく、配信、イベント、解説、コミュニティなど、その人が何年もかけて得た経験や知名度そのものが価値になる訳ですから、プロ野球選手が引退した後に解説や後輩育成や監督などの仕事の様な物と同じだと思います。

そうなれば、新作で以前ほど勝てなくなったとしても、格闘ゲームの世界で生きていく道は残ります。

EWCのような大会によって、一つの大会で人生が変わるほどの賞金を獲得できる時代になったことは、プロにとって大きな夢だと思います。

一方で、賞金額が大きくなればなるほど、それを信じていてもいいのかな？とも。

今のEWCには人生が変わるほどの夢があります。

でも、本当にプロというものを職業として成立させていくのであれば、「勝った人がいくらもらえるか」だけではなく、「勝てなくなった後にも何が残るのか」ということも、そろそろ考えていかなければならないのかもしれません。

プロプレイヤーを辞めても人生はその先も続きます。
メーカーだけで解決できる問題でもないし、選手だけに背負わせる問題でもない。
大会、スポンサー、チーム、コミュニティ、そしてメーカーも含めて、格闘ゲームという世界全体で考えていくことなのだと思います。

EWCを見ていると、「格闘ゲームでこんなに大きな夢を見られる時代になったんだな」と嬉しく思う反面、
この夢を、若い人たちが信じていい世界にできるにはどうしたらいいのだろうか？

そんな立場も力もお金もないけど、考えてしまいます。

The struggle content he posted was his best content on his original channel. Those videos with his old rage videos he used to upload had the most views. He abandoned it because he wanted to play video games and be like every other streamer even though he genuinely HATED it lol he honestly should've stuck to fitness and he would've been all over the place by now. He wouldn't be buying subs in Ukraine using a VPN lmao

It’s really ironic and kind of sad because the struggle content he used to upload under “The Critical Times” was literally some of his most popular stuff on YouTube outside of the rage videos lol People used to say all the time that they liked watching him go through the struggle because it felt relatable coming from somebody they actually enjoyed watching.

He ended up abandoning it because he felt like he wasted too many years of his life and wasn’t really getting anywhere with the content. It’s crazy because that’s still some of my favorite Dale lore next to the failed fitness channel Low Tier Fitness lmao Bro went out of his way to act like all these other streamers and still can’t get brand deals or invitations anywhere 😭 if he had realistically abandoned video games and stuck to Fitness, he would be everywhere right now lol
