Is it time to leave twitter?
I've never worried about voting with my feet since I'm not paying to be here and what I "pay" in whatever data is collected seems meh in the grand scheme. But fascism going as it is these days, I wonder. Also, it mostly just feels dead around here.
My feed seems to be all big accounts that I follow, but I don't see so much from the regular folks that I like to interact with. I don't know if that's because they've left, or the algorithms, or what. I'm not on here enough anymore to even know for sure.
You can explain such a turn of events by the fact that power and the good are sometimes misaligned, but I’m not sure Nietzsche’s moral philosophy entitles him to such an explanation.
This is basically Nietzsche’s slave revolt in morals, with the placeholder “pagan” switching roles to now be associated with slave morality.
It’s always struck me as an obviously weak argument… if the old nobility were so great… how’d they manage to get defeated so bad?
CEO of Palantir, Alex Karp:
“The West is obviously superior. We had a pagan religion infiltrate our universities and our society, and that religion basically said that everything good about America and everything that has actually worked… is bad.”
America is appointing a bunch of heterosexual godly alpha dads. Wild that everything is getting better. It’s almost like it was Gods design for Godly men to lead and protect.
CONFIRMED: Michael Lauer, deputy director of the National Institutes of Health’s extramural research, is LEAVING. 2nd big NIH departure in as many days
The difference between the two genders:
Headed to church, “Life is a Highway” comes on the radio.
4 year old boy: THIS IS A GREAT FIGHTING SONG!
3 year old girl: NO THIS IS A DANCING SONG
😂😂😂
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal.
If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal.
Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.
Alas, I think the term has been so swamped by anti-catholicism and dispensational premillennialism that it’s an historical oddity at this point rather than a viable analytical category. Just too cringe.
Kind of wish that in addition to a robust fascism debate about the current moment among political theorists there was a robust antichrist debate among theologians.
My book (Kant's Critique of Practical Reason: Background Source Materials) is now available online through CambridgeCore! If you'd like a digital copy and want a discount get in touch with me - I still have a code.

A new edition of Suzanne Britt’s “Qu'est-ce que la documentation?”, the classic text of documentation studies, has been created by Arthur Perret. Included are marginal notes by Laurent Martinet, who worked on the English translation in the 90s.

This is a good theological-political statement, deeply rooted in psalms and tradition. Twitter replies do not seem to like it, though, lol!
People need to get more comfortable with stuff like this. Not saying everyone needs to believe in God, but this is a good word right now.
