After a slow start by both teams over the first few minutes, Birmingham Groves outscored Bloomfield Hills 17-2 to end the 1st qtr and build a 20-4 lead. They added an 11-pt run spanning halftime to extend their advantage to 42-16 and played their entire roster liberally throughout the 2nd half. Groves clinches the outright Oakland-White championship with a 78-49 win.

Groves played very up-tempo with heavy pressure defensively and a lot of 3s offensively. For the game, they had a 25-10 advantage in steals and hit 15 3-pointers (to BH's 3).

Jr Harlem Simpson (pictured, #13) was on quadruple-double alert at halftime with 10 points, 6 steals, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists before the break. She scored Groves' first 11 points of the 2nd half, burying 3 straight 3s. At that point, she had hit 6 3-pointers and 3 FTs for her 21 points, but spent the rest of the game scoring around the rim off the drive and cut as BH attempted to contest her jumper. She finished 1 steal shy of a triple-double with 34 points, 11 rebounds, 9 steals, and 6 assists. Fr Mallory Killian (#15) hit a trio of 3s and also posted a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. On Senior Night, Grand Valley State softball recruit Jacey Roy (#2), Groves' only sr, also had a well-rounded stat line with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Jr Genevieve Meihn hit a pair of 3s as she contributed 8 points and 4 steals.

Bloomfield Hills top 4 scorers were all underclassmen. Soph Evia Barbu (pictured, #3) scored 10 of her 12 points in the 2nd half and completed a double-double with 11 rebounds. Fr Raina James (#2) scored 8 of her team-high 14 points in the 4th qtr. Fr Julianna Socha added 6 points and 11 rebounds, while fr Elennee Popov pitched in 7 points.
