i don’t really care if authors are against piracy because that won’t stop me from pirating in general. what can they do besides throwing tantrums on the internet? show up to my house?
I won’t argue with you if you refuse to check their privilege if YOU can pay that much for one book and don’t have to think about what else you could be doing with that money great but I won’t be going back and forth over millionaires they’re not missing my money I promise you
really bewildering to me that authors can write fantasy with complex political climates & socioeconomic issues yet their capitalist addled brains can only think of personal financial gains & not the very real education, intellectualism & literacy that piracy upholds.
I'm so tired of having to constantly explain that not everybody has local libraries and even if we do most of the time they don't even stock fiction nvm the latest releases not to mention how even if libraries do exist they only have books for entrance, job exams or for studies.
‘CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE’ author Tomi Adeyemi says she will not support the upcoming film adaptation of her novel:
“There is a reason I will not post anything about the adaptation of my work. […] And lastly since someone asked - I have not seen the film, and I will not watch it. It’s been painful holding this back from you all. And i’m sorry if any of you thought i didn’t care. I will always care about US. More than any glitter.”
