India just patented a new fuel that could power its future missiles and rockets.

DRDO and researchers at the University of Hyderabad secured Patent No. 599900 for a compound called BAM-H24.

Work on it actually started back in 2022, and the patent only came through on 20 August this year.

It's a boron, hydrogen and nitrogen rich compound, built specifically for solid rocket propellants.

Two things make it stand out. High chemical and thermal stability, and low sensitivity to impact or friction.

That second part matters a lot. It means safer handling during manufacturing, storage and transport, fewer accidents at propellant facilities.

It's meant for missile systems and launch vehicles, both defence and space programs.
