Monopoly was first created by a woman who criticised the system. Her name was Elizabeth magie, who stood against inequality and discrimination. In 1903, she designed a game called “Monopoly”. The game became famous and quickly spread around America. Later, Charles Darrow saw the game, modified its rules and claimed it as his own and sold it to companies. While Darrow made a fortune, the Parker Brothers company bought Magie's patent for a small fee and erased her name from history. Darrow became rich, while Magie stayed poor and died in poverty. In the end her message was proven right!
