the music is excellent, but what drove Madonna’s success this album cycle is the authenticity in the marketing.
labels and reps are confused on what “authenticity” means anymore.
they put these poor people through the corniest media runs where they get posed questions like “did you see this meme of you” because they think that’s what makes them accessible.
instead, they maximized Madonna’s attention where it mattered:
-legacy fans
-sex apps
-historic collaborators
-the FUCKING CLUB
-NYC and LDN
-surrounded with celebrities of her caliber and tenure
she didn’t need a 22 year old podcaster in cargo jeans asking her what she thought of cocaine so she could get a TikTok sound bite. she was throwing parties with cool people on cocaine.
All three albums are still decent idk why people act as if they're unlistenable and I feel like Madame X was one of her most ambitious albums and absolutely some of her best deep cuts like I wouldn't put madame X in her lower bracket albums
@teenaseh i feel like even people who believe themselves to be very interested in social justice and things of that nature still think/speak in ways that reify the “hot = good, ugly = bad” mindset like especially since the “hot girl” thing gained traction theres been so much
When people say that *this producer* did all the job, you know they can't stop playing HER album. They use the same excuse for Ray of Light, Like a Prayer, Music etc
Straight men will NEVER say they love music by a woman, they have to be shady so they won't get called gay
@PopTingz@Madonna i gotta give it to her she's pulling mainstream pop girl in her 20s numbers at the age of 67 after nearly 50 years of career with a legendary established legacy behind her and countless hits under her belt... only a queen can do this and it's Madonna. SHE IS THE QUEEN OF POP
