Tensions flared at the Jimira Forest Reserve after the Kwadaso Circuit Court ordered the release of eight excavators seized from illegal miners in 2025.
The Forestry Commission is rejecting the ruling, insisting the machines have already been confiscated to the state by a Kumasi High Court.
A near clash ensued between the Commission’s Rapid Response Unit and men brought in by miner Adu Adjei Ishmeal, the owner of the excavators.

I met with executives and representatives of the Ghana Union of Traders' Associations (GUTA) to discuss issues affecting traders in Ghana. They raised concerns about high import duties and demurrage costs, the increase of VAT for informal sector operators to 20%, the lack of access to EXIM loans, foreigners taking over the retail trade, high cost of rent and Goodwill payment for shops, etc.
The discussions were eye-opening and GUTA also came with proposals to resolve some of these challenges. We also discussed the importance of transitioning from just importing to producing these goods in Ghana and the incentives to encourage them to do so. It was a very productive meeting, and my thanks to GUTA for this meeting.
“It is a commercial airport, not an airstrip. 70% of Phase One of the airport project has been completed.”
— Engineers handling the airport project promised by business mogul Ibrahim Mahama following his takeover of Damang Gold Mines Limited clarify that it is a commercial airport, not an airstrip, adding that 70% of Phase One has been completed.
This thing never made any sense to me.
• Keep quiet
• Watch people to destroy the lands
• Pretend to stop them
• Later get cameras on grounds to show Ghanaians you’re reclaiming the degraded land
This is the attitude of Ghana Government against the Galamsey fight
GoldBod in collaboration with the 44 Engineers Regiment and the Forestry Commission is undertaking reclamation works to restore the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve, with 10 major mining pits already covered. @GhanaGOLDBOD
@evithence This generation fears nothing
You speak against powers you know nothing about.
I bet you'd have cursed Jesus if you lived in His days. Keep quiet over spiritual matters
The Majority Caucus on Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee has accused Nana Asafo Adjei Ayeh of allegedly pressuring Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to issue a diplomatic passport to Henry Nana Boakye, despite claims that he did not qualify for one.
The caucus argues that the alleged pressure explains what it describes as attempts to tarnish the minister’s reputation.

@evithence Abel Damina is just pained that Apostle Arome is expanding and buying up huge international properties abroad
It's not strange for Jesus to cry or Eat since he did that in the Bible
I do not usually support the many experiences of Arome. But Damina isnt s correct man of God
