@HeroineRipley@caroljsroth Meh, if "accurate," Costner's Robin Hood, Kingdom of Heaven, & LadyHawke would be all be old French, Norman, & Italian. No one on the Red October spoke Russian and no one used 1800s Spanish in Zorro, so I don't care if Connery and Hopkins didn't mask their accents.
@caroljsroth Innerspace
LadyHawke
Nate & Hayes
Big Trouble in Little China
Masters of the Universe ( yes, the Dolph version )
Sneakers
Hook
Willow
Probably half of my movie collection.
@HeroineRipley@caroljsroth I don't get the Broderick hate. His conversations w/ God are hilarious (It always pays to tell the truth, Lord. I see that now!) Not everything has to be perfectly historically accurate (a la Knight's Tale).
Tip for 1st-time watchers: skip the opening credits. They're BAD.
@marvthegrate I've been telling people for years gaming keypads and mice are fantastic for productivity. I map Home, End, PgDn/Up, copy/paste, Ctrl+Tab, & all sorts of commands to my mouse thumb buttons then have the profile auto switch for the active application. A macropad would be great.
@marvthegrate I love programmable columnar pads for games. Easier to hit keys without looking (I'm not a touch typist). I'm much faster with my Orbweaver than a normal keyboard, but it took 2-3 weeks to acclimate.
I know, gaming keypads aren't the same as this, but somewhat similar.
Everything in the world operates not on reality, but the perception of reality. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear. How we work. What we think. It's all about the information.
Nearly 30 years later, I wonder if Sneakers knew how prophetic it was.
@MollyRatty Is the idea of "I disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it" no longer being taught?
Wait, I think I answered my own question.
Admittedly I'm a @Utah_Football homer and think the 2004 title game should've been USC / Utah and 2008 should've been Florida / Utah.
But a good first step would be to remove polls or rankings of any sort until much later in the season, like week 9 or so.
It's because the opportunity to reach the title game is based on subjective and biased polls. Humans tend to operate on the perception of reality, not reality itself. Those who manipulate the perception manipulate the results.
NCAA football has had 1 National Champion in the West in 30 years of college football.
Alabama has won it 7 times alone in that same stretch.
Makes me wanna puke!
Somebody do something!
So what if a team is lucky and has all the right pieces fall into place one year? Why is that held against them? What's the arbitrary # of years a team has to be "good" before they're allowed to have a shot?
