Most don’t appreciate how impressive this is….to calculate the exact trajectory a spacecraft must follow to intercept a body in space moving in space at 3700km/hr within a specific time window. Add that to factoring in changes due to solar radiation pressure and the slight variations in Earth’s gravitational field caused by its uneven mass distribution.
Every mid-course correction burn requires the crew to fire thrusters at precise angles in 3D space, in a vacuum, while moving at 1000s of km/h..using navigation systems that cross-reference star positions. There aren’t any rooms for error
@dbbovey The Suitcase also inspired "La Valise", a libation designed to foster Franco-African geopolitical relations.
It was (as mentioned) the early 2000s.
So thanks again to Mr Scott.
@CityofCT overflowing sewage drain corner Lombardie Avenue and Rathfelder Avenue in Bel Ombre.
Raw sewage flowing onto street and into stormwater drains.
The more one interrogates Cape Town’s investments in poorer communities compared to other municipalities, the more puzzling the anti-poor narratives become. Why are people so determined to spread this despite the overwhelming evidence in Cape Town’s favour? 🤔
Superb animatic of our Solar System. Not 2D concentric circles on a vinyl LP, but swooping 3D helio-orbits clinging around a speeding Sun.
It is glorious.

Want to raise a super kid?
Do these 7 things to help your kids thrive
1. Teach your kids to breath through their nose
More than half of todays kids are classified as mouth breathers
This stresses the body, causes chronic fatigue, leads to poor posture & causes cavities.
Reminders to breath through nose
Do 5 deep nose breaths with them
Teach them to chew with mouth closed
All help them build the habit of proper breathing
2. Daily mindset work
Society is creating a materialistic generation of "I want". Kids are always wanting the new toy, game etc. They are not taught to be grateful for what they have.
There is also a prevalence of negativity. News, social media and many adults tend to focus on negativity. Kids overhear this stuff & take on the same energy. This is why there is a mental health crisis in society.
Try practicing things like:
Gratitude
Acts of kindness
Positive affirmations
With your kids. They wont realize it but it will plant the seeds of a strong mindset & resilient mental health.
3. Lots of playground time
Kids need more unstructured play. It helps nurture their imagination & creativity.
And all the activities in a playground like monkey bars, balance beams & climbing walls help develop their joints & muscles.
Every kid has fun at playgrounds. They just need to opportunity to get to one.
Make it part of the routine to check out local playgrounds multiple time a week.
Bonus: Join them in the play!
4. Feed them a healthy diet
How can a kid hit their physical & mental potential if they are fed a diet full of chemicals & artificial ingredients?
Kids should eat mostly whole foods like eggs, fruit, meat, veggies & dairy to give them the nutrients their body needs to develop properly and thrive.
There is a time & place for treats, but dont normalize it.
Tip: Kids are WAY more likely to eat healthy foods & enjoy them if they see their parents eating them too.
Lead your family by example.
5. Teach your kids to chew
Not long ago, kids had to chew their food. Raw veggies, fruits & meat all required plenty of chewing.
This helped build the jaw joint, jaw muscles and created space in the mouth for teeth to grow.
Now the majority of a kids diet is processed and soft. It common to see kids, teens and adults with weak jaws & crooked teeth because they rarely have to use jaw muscles.
-Include foods that need to be chewed in their diet
-Encourage chewing food plenty before swallowing
-Offer gum (we use mastic gum) when age appropriate
6. Plenty of time barefoot
A kid's foot has 33 joint, 100s of muscles and countless nerve receptors that are built to touch & feel the ground.
Feet are not meant to be crammed into cheap, walmart shoes. This will impair proper foot development and lead to joint problems in the feet, ankles, knees, hips and/or back.
Normalize barefoot time whenever possible.
We recommend following @Barefoot_Will_ for better foot health
7. Make sleep a TOP priority
Quality, consistent sleep is one of the best things you can give your kids
It is very important for their:
Mood
Growth
Memory
Happiness
Immune system
Mental development
Physical development
Retain what they learn during the day
Parents who build a sleep routine for their kids & stick to it have happier & healthier kids
Every parent says they want their kids to be healthy & thrive
Be one of the parents that takes action to help make it happen!
This is really unbelievable and unfortunate.
Minister Angie Motshekga is going to be awarded the Knight of the French National Legion of Honour by the French Ambassador to South Africa today.
The bestowing of the insigna of “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” purportedly in recognition of Minister Motshekga’s commitment towards access to quality education is an insult to South Africans.
How Sway?
🚩We have a high dropout rate with 40% of students not completing high school.
🚩Only 19% of our grade fours can read for meaning at the low level of comprehension.
🚩Only 21% of students passed maths with 50% or better.
🚩39.8% (2.2 million) children between 0-4 are not in any form of Early Childhood Development (ECD).
The truth is that the minister has not delivered quality education, instead she has extended the reign of Bantu Education in South Africa. Instead of receiving awards she should be fired from her job.
