Another Asian female elder attacked by young racist thug in the San Francisco Bay Area! No outrage, no protests, no town hall meetings, minimal punishments. These attacks are attempted murder.
@Heatherowe20@elonmusk Looks like you donโt know how to read. Read my tweet again. Nobody is 100% right, but being right 80% of the time is still much better than being 100% wrong, particularly for serious matters like pandemics.
@thanh_neville @Twitter This is completely BS and disgusting! You can only assume it was from a trash. Sadly, many people in America seem to feel entitled and safe to discriminate against and attack Asian Americans without any consequence, so do Twitter and many mainstream media.
@kakape gave a thought-provoking talk at #vge21, but thought-provoking questions did not get asked or answered. Is that true many people in science donโt really like different ideas and the scientific enterprise serves only the personal interests of some, at the expense of truth?
The entire media narrative where the police is justifying the explanation of someone who murdered 8 people with very little description of the 8 lives he took, the lives they led, the families they left behind, is all you need to know the deeply rooted bias in media and society.
People of #Asian descent are expected to be quiet and obedient, any one who dares to speak out will be ignored or shun away, which I expect for my tweets as well, not that I have a big following. #racismisvirus#racisminacademic@AAAJ_Atlanta
They are often stereotyped as not speaking English well, timid, and socially and culturally different. But when someone breaks the stereotypes, s/he is often considered an odd ball. People of Asian descent are expected to be diligent workers but not leaders. #racisminacademic 4/n

What percentage of faculty members of Asian descent are at leadership positions in both their institutions and their professional societies, except in a very small number of universities or societies? #racismisvirus#racisminacademic 3/n

With their skills, talents, and hard-working, they are great contributors to science, medicine, engineering, and technology in America. But what percentage of postdocs of Asian descent in U. S. can find faculty positions in U.S.? #racismisvirus 2/n

The racism and discrimination against Asians and Asian Americans, particularly people of East Asian decent, is everywhere in America, from streets to academia, from being shot to being shun away. #racismisvirus 1/n

"Even after all the soul-searching done during last summerโs Black Lives Matter protests, when first covering any crime, the media โ not just The Times โ tend to follow the narrative offered by law enforcement."
