@mattjcan Rio Tinto is having trouble securing energy cheap enough to keep running its Tomago smelter. Why? According to the CEO of Rio: coal power is TOO EXPENSIVE, and there isn’t enough renewable energy around for them to secure their needs.

@ellymelly I believe the ACCC who in a very detailed and transparent analysis commissioned by the parliament reported that almost all of electricity price increases over the last few years are a result of the fossil fuel price spike caused by the Russian war against Ukraine.
The RBA's own analysis in February showed raising rates would have negligible impact on inflation, and yet it did it anyway. Policy director @GrogsGamut writes the RBA seems more concerned with raising unemployment than lowering inflation #OffTheCharts
