Cynics and defeatists share the same story as authoritarians do: that nothing is worth trying, the conclusion is foregone, hope is naïve, and attempts to resist are too small or futile.
Don’t listen to them. Do not give up. Try. A better world is possible. We will win. We must.
Reminder that the Epstein Files are supposed to be released on Friday and every political development that you see between now until then should be viewed with that in mind.
Now dino dentures: These are whole dentures that fall out of the mouth post mortem. We see this happen in a lot of sauropods. Alone these don't mean anything about lips/lipless, just means the gum tissue was structurally tight around the teeth. 🦕: Europasaurus 2/?
So I had some people asking why I chose to make my Diplodocus lipless for my press art. Truth is, its just artistic liberties, don't take it at face value. But I'll discuss some of the reasoning behind it in a short 🧵1/?🦕🦷
The latest season of PhP was great and probably my favorite, but the lack of location and genus names is a major L for Apple or whoever thought that was a great idea. God forbid a documentary be educational.
This already feels so much nicer.
The classic terror bird, Phorusrhacos longissimus! Known fossil elements, including the limbs, vertebrae, and a new skull, suggest a shorter yet heavier and more robust animal, a top predator in its ecosystem alongside other Phorusrhacids. #paleoart
Here the result of the Seaham Formation #paleostream, maybe the most relaxing formation stream we will ever have! This Carboniferous tundra wasn't chosen because of it's fossils, but because of its setting.
I know this will get less attention than other formation pieces but for me this might have turned out to be one of my favorite paintings in this series. The idea of standing on a cold plain, surrounded by ancient plants and shiver in the face of an ice wall and a mountain of fire
It is so unbelievably lame when people see resilient wildlife coexisting with humans in an urban setting and come away with the opinion that we should all die. These pictures are the product of a tremendous amount of successful conservation work.
@TetZoo Yeah, I'd be curious to see what eDNA studies might show - or, though maybe more of a leap,, genetic studies on C. cf. ferox, assuming introgression wouldn't be totally out of the question
@siberian_timur Maybe! That one lion photo of it in front of a car always surprises me, I wish I knew what individual that is and where in the world it is. Such amazing proportions!
