🇬🇷💞🇹🇷 After the Conquest, this changed. While the Greeks remained defeated, and Greek nationalists were traumatized so much that they are still in pain today, we were also "freed" from independence.
Greeks could focus on what was in their nature: they excelled in trade; they created Greco-Ottoman architecture; they even developed the Orthodox faith, which was only safe from Western influence because of the Ottoman Empire.
By taking our mother, our mama, Constantinople, Mehmed "broke" us and offered us an opportunity to move forward--something that Kemal Atatürk also did! Both of these great men "castrated" Greek nationalists while offering friendship to the Greeks.
For 400 years, we accepted Mehmed's offer, and while Greek women were rolling their shoulders and shaking their breasts in the homes of even the poorest Turks, we were prospering.
The Greek mama was safe and protected in the arms of the Turkish soldier, and while her little Greek son would get embarrassed when he thought about history, he was prospering.
I hope that Greeks today accept a similar offer, because the alternative will mean the destruction of our nation.

🇬🇷💞🇹🇷 A Pro-Turkish Greek's Opinion On The Conquest of Constantinople 🇹🇷⚔️🇬🇷
573 years ago, Mehmed the Conqueror, one of the greatest men to ever live, conquered a town that was weak and ruined. He turned it into the strongest, most beautiful city on Earth.
Some of my Greek compatriots complain about the Conquest to this day. I understand why they do it--after all, Mehmed permanently took our beautiful mother, Constantinople, and made her the wife of the Turkish nation--but I want to provide an alternative perspective.
The Roman Empire was not only poor and militarily weak--it was waiting for Western help that never arrived, just as Greece does, today--it was also spiritually weak.
Christian Greeks felt defeated. After the Muslim Turks traumatized us in the Battle of Manzikert, we could only watch as we lost territory after territory, as the bellies of Greek noblewomen turned slave girls swelled with Turkish babies.
The Greeks were defeated. Architects were not building buildings; artists were not creating art; women were not having babies. The Greek women of Constantinople, those that were enslaved during the Conquest, were not "happy" before becoming Turkish concubines: they were married to men who they knew could not even protect them and their children.
