After over 2 years of pushing for a $55K pay floor, we were shocked when @merrillwilliams & @washingtonian management finally came back with a proposal of $40K.
Their proposal remains far below adequate income levels for the DC area & below the pay floor of other media outlets.

We sent our CEO @merrillwilliams a small card with some important 2023 resolutions, among them:
• A pay floor for all employees (we've proposed $55K)
• Annual cost-of-living raises
• Better, equitable parental leave
• A commitment to diversity—both in hiring and retention
