In the pilot, Caine said usernames couldn’t have objectionable content, and players got an “NG” mark for using bad words.
But in episode 5, he says “get killed off one by one from OSHA violations” with no censor at all. 🤔
Oh… Is it possible that I’ve just been missing CATCF references in the pilot, Ep 1, as well…? And in Ep 5, could someone end up shrinking like Mike Teavee…?
The world is in such a terrible state, and my home country’s politics seem to be heading in the wrong direction every day, so I’ve been feeling really down lately.
What I can’t forgive is a company that ignores its real audience of children and families, caters instead to adult fans with disposable income, and treats a work with no real respect as nothing more than a cash machine.
But I’m genuinely happy to see Netflix clearly positioning this first and foremost for children and families, and aiming to create something that will “delight the young at heart and Wonka fans.” That feels like the right direction.

"Our directors, Jared and Elaine, have a bold vision befitting this new adventure whilst remaining sympathetic to the legacy, and I'm thrilled to play my part in bringing Willy Wonka to life in animated form,” Waititi says. “He is so special to me, and the opportunity to voice
creating a Charlie vs. The Chocolate Factory that’s more deliciously unhinged than your wildest imagination. If we do a rotten job, you can throw us down a rubbish chute!"
