Skolombo is actually the name of a cult group that rose to prominence in Calabar in the early 2000s leading up to the 2010s, especially around Calabar South area. Like many cult groups, they were involved in criminal activity.
Helen, a student in this class asked an interesting question, “Aunty, if we can’t call them Skolombo, what do we call them?”
And I told her
“You call them by their names. Just like I’d want you to call me by mine.”
On the podcast I did with Rodney, he opened up about how constant comparisons and claims that he had “fallen off” from Twitter creators took a toll on his mental health. He also shared how he eventually channeled that pain into something more productive.
I can’t wait for this episode to come out, fr fr!

I really can’t understand people expecting male artistes that are barely literate to be feminist or woman-loving.
Look around you please. Open your ears and eyes. Hei.

I co-wrote Elozonam’s new comedy show ‘Is This The One’ and it was such a thrilling experience.
From flipping gender roles on its head and making a parody of existing gender norms.
To writing more shows! 🥂
Congratulations @Elozonam1
Please go check out Hauwa’s writing. If you like her videos then trust me when I say she is even a better and funnier writer, which is how we all first knew this gem of a human. We loved her writing before we even saw her face. I remember there were people arguing whether Hauwa was a woman or a man using a female pseudonym. Because some people could not imagine a woman writing that humorously. Humor writing (and I am not limiting her to humour writing) is a very underdeveloped area in Nigeria and there are not many who have distinguished themselves in this area. Humor writing is very underrated, too often overlooked as an important part of our literature.
I can think of a pioneer in this regard. Chuma Nwokolo for example who is one of Nigeria’s most important humorists.
Anyway. Please go and check out my wife’s website and read her writing.
