A massive thank you to everyone who donated at our Wriggly Nativity, we were able to buy a large number of toys and Christmas presents l for the children’s ward in St Richards hospital. Miss Goldsmith will take them all in tomorrow!
Y5 have enjoyed making periscopes. We learnt about what they were used for in the war & how they might have saved lives. We then cut out their own net, scored the paper & created our own camouflage designs. Once they had added in the mirrors, they tested them over the table tops.
Y2 now have their Wriggly Nativity script words. Please practise these with your child, making sure they can say all the words evenly, clearly & loudly. Please help them to learn which song plays or person speaks before them. Many thanks, KS1 Teachers
Miss Pullen's class were very excited to see a real life gas mask. It provided us with a great starting point for an engaging and exciting History lesson!
Mrs Brooks, Miss Geary and our chair of governors @GratiaetIacomus visited @HPACH2015 on the 14th November. We would like to sincerely thank Ms Rai and @mattbritt69 for their time and hospitality and we look forward to welcoming them to visit @ewcps in the near future!
Some photos from Miss Parker's art lesson today.
Year 1 completed a colour wheel. They showed their knowledge of primary and secondary colours.
Year 2 were taught what a tint is and then modelled this choosing their own colour to display it.
The entire school focused on selfless giving this Harvest and a collection of food and home items was made for St Joseph's Homeless Shelter run by the charity Stone Pillow. We did amazingly well and took over 171 kg of items to the Chichester site. A BIG thank you everyone!
In Years 1 and 2 we have been learning about the Hindu festival of light- Diwali. We acted out the story in a darkened room and thought about the wonder of light. We made and then painted lamps as well as drawing Rangoli patterns.
Dates for your Diary:
28th November will be WWII day for KS2. The children will be dressing up and working off their normal timetable for the day.
Also - The Christmas Nativity will take place on the 10th and 11th December.
KS2 students enjoyed a trip to the Science Centre in Winchester. They explored space, they made their own rockets that were then launched and we were able to explore lots of other amazing experiments.
KS2 had the opportunity to look at a set of medals that belonged to Mrs Hobbs' great grandad. They were medals from World War Two and were still in their original packaging! We had to be very careful when passing these around but thoroughly enjoyed looking at them.
Dear Parents/Carers.
Our phone lines are currently down and we are working hard to rectify this. We are hoping to be up and running soon! If you have left a voicemail, at present we are not able to pick these up. We will update you once the service is back up and running.
