I just learned that under Ghana’s Free Senior High School policy, the government pays the WASSCE registration fees for every student in public schools.

Then I looked at Nigeria, where WAEC and NECO fees have just increased.

I’m struggling to understand the logic.

Nigeria has one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world.

Thousands of children drop out every year because their families simply cannot keep up with the cost of education.

Education is under attack in Nigeria and we have to fight back.

I love seeing education reclaim its rightful place in our society.

Alex has repeatedly said his number one and only goal is the South East. You don’t expect him to start looking for maths geniuses in Kano or Osun. He’s a private person who’s dedicated his efforts to STEM in the south east. This is not bigotry. This is putting his people first.

We just arrived at the Colosseum again.

Yesterday, Don Anele Munachimso was tired after the competition, so he didn’t come out with us.

I am teaching them how preserving history can generate billions of dollars in an economy. Unfortunately, Nigeria doesn’t understand the value of history yet.

The Colosseum alone generates €1.4 billion annually for Rome. Many other tourist places here generate billions as well.

The 3 wise men from the East are set to head to Rome: Chimdiebube Onwubiko, Egejurum Onyedikachi, and Don Anele Munachimso.

Their assignment is simple: bring back the gold.

They will be competing with 154 other countries in Rome, Italy, this week.

Since Nigeria couldn’t qualify for the World Cup, this will be our World Cup.

I just got information that Nigeria has the opportunity to appeal its position at the International Maths Olympiad. This year’s final will be held in Shanghai, China, from July 10th to 21st.

If they succeed, they can participate again starting in 2027. They must commit to funding their students for at least the next 5 years.

The last time Nigeria participated was in 2019. This is the most prestigious academic competition in the world, and we have denied our children this privilege for so many years.

The Ministry of Education, through the National Mathematical Centre, should do the needful now.

The last time Nigeria participated in the International Maths Olympiad (IMO) was in 2019.

The government's reason then was that it was not important enough.

The actual funding required is less than the cost of a brand new Hilux.

This is the most prestigious academic competition in the world, and our children have been deprived of participation for years.

Education has been pushed to the back seat for a long time, while illiteracy has been elevated.

This needs to stop now!

In April 2026, these 3 girls - Chimfumnanya Stephanie Aghaduno, Abasiofon Otobong Sampson, and Damaris Oluwasemilore Oyerinde - represented Nigeria at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) in Bordeaux, France.

66 countries participated, but unfortunately, Huaijin Lou from China won the gold prize. Our girls will try again next year and this time bring home the gold.

It was fully funded by ex-Olympiads from Special Maths Academy with zero support from the government.

Education needs to regain its place in our society.
