@MrATeachesMath I want that for you! I just want those who enjoy it to start meeting up again for adult conversation. For me it’s lonely. I don’t mean team mandated lunches, i mean going to the lounge and finding colleagues to chat with in general as a distraction/break.

@morgetron I never meant to take that away, it’s just as essential to some to have their alone time as it is for me to have some adult interaction. I guess it means letting people know you are eating in the lounge and intentionally including those interested.

@Sam_Parker202 I can’t speak for others, but i don’t mean for it to be forced on anyone ever! I found when i was subbing when i came back that every school’s teacher’s lounge was empty so i would resort to eating alone. It seems one extreme to the other. I want the option again!

So many teachers are isolated at lunch. I would love to see a return to team lunches; so much team bonding and collaboration happens!

Teachers still work largely in isolation with little time for collegial conversation. Admin, please make sure teachers planning time, lunchtime and recesses for adult conversation and interaction remain sacred. They need it! They deserve it!

@iuangina @DrBradJohnson Since my team worked through lunch, sometimes i dropped everything and read with the lights dimmed for a recharge. I still think i got more out of eating with multiple colleagues in the building!

If I ever start a school, my top 10 priorities:
* no HW (k-8)
* no standardized tests (maybe 4th, 8th, 10th grade)
* multiple recesses
* physically active classrooms
* freshly made lunches
* S's strengths/ talents
* develop T & S leadership
* community projects
* Arts/ PE
* FUN
