@willewords @bryanhughes @AaronSBlackwel1 @MsRage08 I’m also super curious about what’s going on in California, as I understand the colleges are doing away with standardized testing as a reference for applications. What the universities decide will also have an impact as there is a definite “trickle down” based on what they want.

The argument “it’s always been this way” is (pun intended) getting old.

@AaronSBlackwel1 A5: I’ve been using Digital Portfolios coupled with Student Self-Evaluations for about three or four years now, and the results are solid. Ss just need to see their earlier work next to their current work in order to see their own improvement. 👍 did you improve? Then JOB DONE.

@Willmdunn 3/ so how do we flip the script? I was in Quebec when they introduced “rubrics” and a 1 to 5 marking system as opposed to the old percentages... and people LOST THEIR MINDS. 🤯 but it’s still really the same thing... often we’re just re-painting the same old house 🏠 #tg2chat

@abbybates24 @Willmdunn Exactly. We should be focused on where the S is right now, as opposed to “averaging” their “learning over time. Where they were is important, but only in relation to how far they have come. Numbers and averages cannot reflect this accurately.
