I cannot believe @HalifaxWater didn’t tell us about the lack of fluoride. I have a toddler who hates having his teeth brushed and I was counting on fluoride to help prevent cavities in his teeth. Their leadership needs to give their heads a shake and resign.
We couldn’t be more grateful and proud. Developing and running The Bridge is a huge privilege. Today marks a year since the shelter opened. We celebrate the amazing team, staff and clients who are in the space while we continue to work to realize housing for all.
@Girrl_Friday Agreed. They need to change their policy of how they define different dwelling types. I’d be happy to work on advocating for that if you wanted to talk about it some time.
Ha, tell me you’ve never spent time in a shelter without saying you’ve never spent time in a shelter. Mice and rats are two of many pests that are the scourge of homeless shelters
Mo' non-profits, mo' problems?

On a happy note, today we are celebrating Diwali at The Bridge. Abi security team helped pick out items and together he and his team made some lovely Rangoli art for us all. #HappyDeepavali2023#FestivalOfLights

Let’s turn these ideas into action.
We did a thing.
With federal money from Reaching Home, we purchased another condo unit. Within weeks it will be rented to a family who’s been homeless for a long time. Affordable rent, geared to income. Support as needed. Ending someone’s homelessness.
It’s a good thing.
Adsum is excited that for the first time in nearly 30 years, Nova Scotia is investing in public housing and signalling that government recognizes its role in ensuring that everyone has a right to housing, regardless of income. We understand that,
Last month, in collaboration with Welcome Housing, Adsum for Women and Children, North End Community Health Centre, Shelter Nova Scotia, Sackville Warming Centre, Brunswick Street Mission, Phoenix for Youth, Halifax Regional Municipality, and the Department of Community Services
Take my old job! Its a good gig for people who can work independently in the community. Comes with a super supportive team that helps with all logistics and moral support.
@adsumforwomen@vacantmap@welcomehousing I think between the two of you, there is a strong chance that death or serious injury was prevented this weekend. Thank you so much!
