The debate should NOT be about ending live election result publication.

The real question is:

How do we make Kenya's elections MORE transparent, not less?

Since elections are conducted at the polling station, IEBC should strengthen—not weaken—public access to election data by publishing in real time:

✅ Polling station results (Forms 34A/35A/36A etc.) ✅ Timestamp of transmission ✅ Polling station code & constituency ✅ Scanned declaration forms ✅ Progress of reporting nationwide

In addition, IEBC should publish a monthly voter register dashboard showing:

• National totals • County totals • Constituency totals • Ward totals • New registrations • Transfers • Removals

Transparency is the strongest antidote to suspicion.

The solution to misinformation is more verified information—not less information.

This is not the first time there has been an attempt to give us a referendum law. Kenya requires a comprehensive referendum law, primarily to fill a gap and operationalize the constitutional provisions that require referenda in this country. This law will ensure clear, transparent, and enforceable procedures.

🌻Kenyans deserve clarity:
❓ Was due process under the Mining Act followed, or is this a unilateral CS fiat?
❓ Where’s the compliance timeline/notice trail?
❓ Who absorbs the cost when 1000+ families lose income overnight?
❓ Is this genuine enforcement — or leverage for something else?
🌻Regulatory compliance matters. So does regularity of process. You don’t fix non-compliance by creating a jobs crisis and investor panic

Kenya kwisha supporters expected Edwin Sifuna to do what Ruto does, make grand promises that border on outright lies… “In 6 months time, I will give free diapers, free phone calls, free internet, build 1,000 dams and water pans, create millions of jobs overnight, build tens of stadiums across the country etc.”

Sifuna chose a different path. Instead of promising miracles, he is promising to fix what is broken in our country by building a government that listens to its people, respects the rule of law, upholds democratic values, inspires investor confidence, creates opportunity and dignity for all and protects the life and rights of every Kenyan (“We will not kill our young people, no one will be arrested for tweeting, we will not teargas churches”)

As he aptly puts it, “We in Linda Mwananchi are software engineers.”

In other words, instead of making unrealistic promises about the hardware, he will first fix the software that runs the system.

The first commitment is to cut wasteful public expenditure and eliminate extravagance in government. The savings should then be used to ease the burden on ordinary Kenyans, particularly by reducing the burden of taxation.

Sifuna acknowledges that prosperity does not begin with grand campaign promises, but with good governance. He also readily acknowledges that no leader can be an expert in everything or know everything. That is why he is committed to listening to the people, and also to experts, professionals and practitioners across different sectors to develop practical solutions that will move Kenya forward.

Innocent parents were duped by the Uasin Gishu County govt into paying over KSh 1.2 million each to send their sons and daughters to Finland to study, with the promise that they would be employed immediately after graduation. More than 1.2 billion was deposited into the county's account. Of that amount, 284.4 million was paid to universities in Finland and Canada.

The first batch of students was sent abroad, prompting even more parents to join the program. The county then collected an additional KSh 957 million from innocent parents whose only crime was wanting a better future for their children.

Little did they know that this would turn into a well-orchestrated pyramid scheme involving top county officials and some North Rift leaders. Last week, the court dismissed the case against Mandagor who's the main suspect, citing a lack of evidence.

Many affected parents believe justice has not been served and suspect that powerful individuals may have influenced the outcome. If President William Ruto fails to address the issue, I'm afraid the people of Uasin Gishu may give him a cold reception when he visits.

Affected parents are now calling on Rigathi Gachagua to visit them and help amplify their grievances, saying that it is the only language the government seems to understand. But the big question still remain... Who stole this Money & why is the government silent on this matter?

Nowadays, we are seeing more robberies involving criminals armed with real pistols, which points to something seriously broken within our security system.

A few years ago, many robbers relied on fake guns to scare their victims, but today armed gangs appear to have easier access to real firearms.

Junet Mohamed, you have just confirmed what millions of Kenyans have believed for years: Parliament has become the weakest link in Kenya's democracy.

You openly boast that MPs were "paid" during a constitutional process, as though bribery is something to celebrate. That is the public humiliation of Parliament.

The National Assembly was created to defend the Constitution, hold the Executive to account and represent the people. Instead, it has been reduced to an auction house where loyalty is traded, conscience is sold and constitutional duty comes with a price tag.

Your words are an indictment not just of yourself, but of an institution that has lost the confidence of the people. Parliament is no longer feared by the Executive because too many MPs have chosen to become its employees instead of its watchdogs.

While such admissions are made in broad daylight, the anti-corruption agencies remain conspicuously silent. That silence is just as damning.
