nah, this is not what we expected. Instead of apologizing, she should retract her words and admit that the blame should never fall on the kids but on the adults.
Like it or not, the problem isn’t long hair — it’s BLACK HAIR.
Because long after school and into the workplace, locs and certain natural hairstyles are still frowned upon. It’s only in recent years that we’ve begun to see real acceptance.
Yet, somehow, weaves remain more “acceptable” in professional spaces.
The years of indoctrination have done a number on us.
I shudder for a people who have no desire to challenge the systems that should evolve with the times.
These are the same people who once told us not to wear shoes to school, to fight barefoot in wars, while they enjoyed every privilege we were denied.
Someone asked, “If this is allowed, what next?”
And my answer is simple: I don’t know.
But what I do know is that as a growing society, we exist to challenge systems, check excesses, and meet the world where it’s at.
If we didn’t, we’d still be digging farms with our bare hands.
Incredible, every African countries needs to emulate Ghana in this by embracing their languages as a medium of instruction while English can serve as a subject.
The crazy part of all of this is, we still have to vote. Who do we even vote for ? Someone will say, “the lesser evil”. Excuse my language but we’re fu**ked as a people and as a country. If NDC comes into
Power it will take more than 4 years to correct any wrongs. I can’t imagine what NPP will also do if they stay in power. Ghana used to be one of the best African countries in the world, overly corrupt politicians have destroyed our reputation. We don’t have Leaders, we have oppressors. #FreeCitizens
Ama Governor is a better person than i am because she has really suffered in this country and still shows up for the betterment of the same ghana that’s after her life .
Dear @UN when Ghanaian government gives any reports on the #SDGs, remember these are our water bodies and forest reserves.
We do not have clean water and sanitation, nor good health and well-being.
Ghana is not as green as the reports paint!
