The decision of three actors in the Sydney Theatre Company's new production of The Seagull to wear the keffiyeh during curtain call sparked a frenzy of condemnation from members of the Jewish community. @latingle spoke to @louiseadler. #abc730
@abc730@latingle Just wow @louiseadler what a great interview! A proud legacy from your father - don’t look away! And don’t give in to the lobbyists who seek power and wealth. #independence4TheArts
Hamas has no respect for international law, but we do.
Civilians and hospitals in Gaza must be protected.
We need steps towards a ceasefire, but it cannot be one-sided.
@CroweDM As an Age subscriber, I have been disappointed by failure to fact check, including op eds.
Journalism 101: "If someone says it's raining, and another person says it's dry, it's not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the window and find out which is true."
@abcnews#QandA@DanTehanWannon is either using slippery and disingenuous argument to create division and confusion or he has a tenuous grip on constitutional and legislative processes. Either way he is not covering himself in glory. #TheVoice#voice23#Auspol2023
It takes a special kind of conceit to claim your empire is waging a noble battle against the “elites” just as you exit via helicopter and hand the keys to the kingdom over to your son
When we listen to communities and factor their priorities into our thinking, we make better decisions, get stronger value for money, and ultimately reach better health outcomes.
That’s why I’ll be voting YES on October 14.

Climate change is not just a change in the weather.
It is changing life on our planet.
It is killing people and devastating communities.
To limit global temperature rise, we must phase out coal, oil & gas in a fair & equitable way – and massively boost renewables. #UNGA
@wayne_kosh@annabelcrabb@GrahamPerrettMP Peter Dutton came out of that episode of KC sounding like an absolute tool. Annabel is one of the smartest journalists going around because she lets these interviewees get comfortable and show their true colours
So much these days centres on risk management. Let’s apply that perspective to Australia & the Referendum. Risks of a No vote are so much greater than the risks of a YES vote. Esp for the mental health & safety of First Nations. Despair for them. Collective shame for all of us.
Former Liberal MP Pat Farmer on the terrible cost of the Coalition’s wedge politics on #Voice, urges former colleagues to “dive inside your heart”, “stop fighting this so vigorously because the grounds you’re fighting it on are completely wrong”. #VoteYes
During 2020 we had a friend from the UK living with us. She couldn’t go home. Her country was having a very bad time with the covid death toll. One day, she sat outside in our garden while 3AW was on (my partner used to listen to it but switched off during covid) and she walked back inside and said: “ I can’t stand listening to that, all it is are angry callers whinging about Daniel Andrews, it’s exhausting.”
Because of the massive covid catastrophe and uncertainty that was happening in her home country, she was horrified at the negativity from 3AW. She was actually grateful to be in Australia. And supported lockdowns and safety measures. It was shambles back home in the UK. Their government was clueless and stuck to nothing.
Channel 9 saying that Neil Mitchell was the go to voice during covid is a load of shite. Dan was the one who updated us every single day on the modelling and the data. The deaths in the aged care sector that the federal government of the day was supposed to be responsible for. While the aged care minister in Canberra was absolutely clueless about any of that data. While Dan had to delegate his staff to go and clean out the mess in private aged care. Dan also thanked healthcare workers and the whole team every single day. Constantly let viewers know where to get tested. What covid isolation payments were available if you needed to stay home. Answered all bullshit questions from an often feral press pack that wanted gotchas and clicks to further themselves.
Neil Mitchell caused anger. Fear. Downplayed the seriousness of the thing. Pushed a narrative that Dan locked us down not to save lives, not to protect our healthcare system, but because he was “power hungry”. Mitchell often labeled Dan as a dictator.
Channel 9 can push this crap that Neil Mitchell was so helpful during the covid days. But he wasn’t. History shows this. They should really stick to a realistic narrative that Neil Mitchell is a conservative Liberal voter, and doesn’t like Dan because Dan hurts his ego. That’s more accurate. #IStandWithDan
