Knicks fans, celebrate ya chip with hats & jerseys but please wait for "post-championship clarity" before buying anything crazy. I own a Chicago Cubs commemorative championship light-up Wrigley Field baseball table? Da fuq for?!π
This is essentially the Prairieland model. Define a loose coalition of activists opposed to the government's immigration policies as Antifa, make the case that Antifa is a terrorist organization, & then prosecute them on conspiracy charges. We're going to see a lot more of this.
The dumbest simps on Twitter: Elon could have built high-speed rail.
What Elon builds when you let him: A subway tunnel only his cars are allowed to drive through.
If heβd hired Elon to build his high-speed rail project, it would have been finished by now, instead of moldering, unbuilt, as a symbol of government incompetence and waste
@wrappingline Weird fucker takes some kinda shared credit for curing AIDS and when asked what his personal contributions to this great society they amount to "holding down a job" and "not murdering anyone"
One of the biggest pieces of WWE revisionist history is that wrestling NEEDED Vince McMahon and his monopoly. Bottom line, wrestling was a thriving business before he even thought about coming into the picture. If absolutely ANYTHING, he made it worse.
@MmmRoyalFarms@glacilan My equivalent to this is Wheel of Time. I got through a dozen LONG books pronouncing names a certain way and I refuse to let some dinky Amazon Prime show change my headcanon even if the original author would have agreed with them.
I get the ballot in the mail, I fill it out in my own good time, stick it in the envelope and drop it in the mailbox that's a short walk from my front door. No lines, no driving anywhere. Short of voting online it literally could not be easier.
@chairmanmeowing It takes work to narrow down a caucus' ideology enough that whoever remains all fit in a fairly restrictive if coherent set of lines. Also while you're doing this you will shed numbers and likely lose some degree of organizational power, which is why most caucuses don't bother.
@hcf_m2h In the 1980s, minor league players made between $3,000 and $7,500 a year. Today, largely because of work the MLBPA put in, the guaranteed first-year minimums are between $20k and $36k, depending on level.
@People4AGrnMvmt@syjvicious You don't have to convince me that things got worse downballot. In my congressional district they recommended a vote for an ex-Republican who endorsed a Republican state Senate candidate in 2019 and gave money to a Republican-aligned county supervisor candidate in 2024.
You can call it a "recommendation" and put all the nuance you want in the text, but if you're a DSA chapter or pseudo-chapter (e.g. CA-DSA) and you put out a "voter guide" that guides voters towards a particular candidate, you are endorsing that candidate.
@planetclairefan Following the accounts of national and/or your local chapter and checking a voting guide every 2 years is not going to give that nuance.
@planetclairefan I don't think you can fairly say that. The internal concept of an endorsement in DSA is a product of a specific organizational culture that you can only sort-of see on social media if you're actively trying to integrate yourself into DSA circles.
