@thealexbatts A thing that gets me is that there are dozens of those direct-to-dvd DC animated movies directly adapting all sorts of big stories and nobody cares because it turns out they’re made to work in a specific genre

@RobertSecundus @Darren_Mooney To me this is the ugly question as somebody who loves 20+ episode tv seasons - are these shorter seasons better for actors/crew working conditions? It’s hard to say because it counterbalances with less pay/job security, but in a vacuum…

@Darren_Mooney @RobertSecundus I do think it’s interesting to compare the Who model to stuff like X-Files or Supernatural, which are probably their closest American versions - those actors were completely locked into those shows year after year, no matter how many attempts Jensen Ackles made at a career

@RobertSecundus I do think one thing that makes this unique to superhero comics too is that these characters have been written by hundreds of people for almost a century - it's very easy to find a Correct version of a superhero in a way it's harder for for, like, a Succession character
