Stop buying data in bulk. The backend trick is beyond what you know as an end user.

There is a unit in telecommunications known as Revenue Monitoring and Optimization.

Their job is to identify revenue leakages and recover operational losses. Some of these costs eventually find their way to customers, especially through data.

They choose data route over call because telephone conversation is easily monitored and identified by the customers because of the known tarrif. They're smart enough to use data paths to recover their losses.

Data usage is not easy to monitor from the customer's end because there is no simple, real-time way for you to independently verify exactly how much data you have used. You simply rely on whatever the telco tells you.

Even the data usage alerts we receive are not something most customers can independently verify.

If you're the type that buy bulk data every month you'll be at the receiving end.

These companies fly with this because this is Nigeria where nothing is questioned.

Over here, corruption and anyhownes is masked in corporate identity to exploit people.

The commercial landscape in Nigeria is gradually changing. The structure that gave people wealth before is gradually being filled. The Chinese now have stores here. You know what that means.

Perfume vendors at Trade Fair are protesting and calling for the Lattafa store to close down its outlet in the market.

Ever since Lattafa opened an outlet at Trade Fair, Nigerians have started patronizing them and ignoring other perfume vendors in the market after finding out that some of their products are allegedly fäke.

The perfumes at the Lattafa store are original and more affordable, with different reviews from content creators and popular food and perfume critic Opeyemi Famakin. This is not sitting well with some perfume vendors at Trade Fair.

They are now protesting in front of the Lattafa store and asking them to shut down their shop.
