Agents are back in the spotlight.
The bottleneck hasn’t changed: execution.
We wrote this to explain what an AI Execution Layer is, and why it matters.
6/
Referrers grow the network.
Executors run the network.
The protocol verifies everything onchain.
Together they form the backbone of the Exec402 decentralized execution layer.
🧵 Executors in Exec402 are now open
1/
Yesterday we introduced Referrers — the growth side of Exec402.
Today, the execution side goes live:
Executors are now permissionless.
Anyone can be an executor — by running a bot, or even executing tasks manually.

And for convenience, we maintain an official open-source reference bot:
It implements the basic loop (poll → broadcast → handle errors),
but executors are fully free to:
• write their own bot
• add custom strategies
• integrate with agent systems
• optimize for latency or batching
The role is completely permissionless and extensible.
👀 Referrers in Exec402
Exec402 lets agents, wallets, and dapps earn a share of task fees by routing flows into the execution layer.
You can charge per action, denominate fees in any supported token, and receive on-chain revenue as a referrer (shared with executors + protocol).
And Refuel402 already supports external referrers —

We just shipped the first public draft of the Exec402 docs.
Exec402 = decentralized execution layer for any chain & any token, extending #x402 with permissionless executors for agents and dapps.

🚀 Introducing Refuel402 — the simplest way to get gas onchain.
Send USDC, receive ETH gas on any address.
Works even if the wallet has zero balance.
Powered by exec402, a decentralized execution layer for any chain & any token.

Developers:
If you want to enable
→ gasless execution
→ multi-token / multi-chain actions
→ intent-based, onchain-verified settlement
→ permissionless facilitators
the SDK is now open-source:

Build real execution flows — without managing gas, signatures, or chains.
Docs coming soon.
