@vurnt22 The library is grew up with was in an old industrislists mansion turned into a library. The place smelled old and interesting. The young adult section was in the basement. The vibe was....something.
@JustinBrannan The old school McDonald's paper gift certificates where you had to write your name on them. I bet the ice cream machine will work for her.
@vurnt22 I was discouraged in the 4th grade to play the oboe b/c it was hard. I took it up anyway. Practiced and became pretty good. My brother learned to play guitar from a book at the library because he wanted to learn. It wasn't easy but that's the point.
@vurnt22 Scene on the F train from smith/9th st to w 4th street. Couple arguing
Lady: i'm getting tired of your sh*t
Man: alright Ms. Bad
Lady: Stares. Gets off at W 4th street.

*end scene*
@vurnt22 I had to convince someone that yes, 1st grade me, watched a shuttle explode in 1986 & cameras didn't turn away for almost 2 mins. And a bunch of other kids watched it too. This person really tried to convince me that millions of kids didn't really see it & we are misremembering.
@MissSassbox My mom was a teacher and was part of a snow day phone tree. The teachers would call each other about snow days. When that phone rang at 5AM I knew what that meant. The only time I have ever accepted a 5AM phone call happily.
@MissSassbox I saw Patti Labelle in 2018 and she was amazing. Sounded beautiful. Sparkles on her gorgeous dress. Throwing mic stands, kicking off her shoes and making grown adult men cry with her beautiful voice.
@vurnt22 From what EVH said members weren't supposed to do outside projects. So he went and did something great, didn't tell VH, didn't get paid and didn't brag about it. I think DLR of 1982 couldn't understand why he would do it.
@vurnt22@AshySlasheeDB DJ Kat for those of us very young in the late 80's this happened on WNYW. I had to look it up to be sure it actually happened. https://t.co/TRqSXQyhdV
@vurnt22 I saw Wings of Desire in college in a dorm room with a bunch of other people and the room was silent the entire time. Then a very serious deconstruction took place. And this group of people were not theater kids or art majors. It was something special we had to talk about.
