Every time I point out the reasons for Lindsay Clancy’s full liability, I’m told the same thing in angry comments and messages: “Stop talking about this.” “Maybe try researching this case.” “You’ve got this wrong.” “I’m disappointed in you.” But never am I actually told what I’m getting factually or logically wrong.

It reminds me a whole lot of 2020, when I would point out the truth about police shootings and racial statistics, hoping that inserting some facts into the emotional turbulence of the day would calm things down. Instead I was told, “sometimes it doesn’t matter what’s true. Just have some empathy.”
