Dear Equity Members,
Union officer elections have to be held by mail ballot.
It sucks, but it’s the law.
So make sure you get a ballot for the upcoming election by ensuring your address is up to date in the Member Portal by 4/15/22.
You can do it here: https://t.co/5NnAXxrdYR
In preparation for getting a new phone, I sorted and filed all 87 browser tabs I had open. I’m a little tempted to reopen them all on my new phone though. How will I remember them otherwise?
The very same employers that claim "We couldn't possibly afford to put an ASM on an Equity contract" all seem to have found the money to hire COVID Compliance Officers.
A good reminder that when employers are FORCED to do something, they always manage to find a way.
Dear Arts Workers,
Many employers are assuming that we're all operating from a place of desperation—that we'll take anything they offer because we're so desperate to come back.
Prove them wrong.
Show them what we've learned about our value and our worth.
Ask for more.
EVERY arts worker deserves a living wage.
EVERY arts worker deserves a safe workplace.
EVERY arts worker deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and have their labor valued.
So join a union. And then work to make it more perfect.
Happy Labor Day, y'all.
@GovWhitmer@GovWhitmer Thank you for standing strong! Please also remember that abortion needs are not just limited to women. Trans and nonbinary people need abortions, too. I’d love to see more inclusive language from you on this subject in the future on this very important issue!
I keep seeing these “women have to post their trauma again” tweets but the thing is, abortion isn’t inherently traumatic. And we do ourselves a profound disservice perpetuating the idea that it is.
