With 2027 set to be his 18th year in the @CelticFC first team, James Forrest is a true one-club man.
I included Jamesy in part four of my @NutmegMagazine feature on Scottish football's great one-club players back in 2024. Read all 4 parts below.

@JoshTaylorBoxer In the four-belt era yes, but Benny Lynch was world champion in the one-belt era so undisputed, same for Ken Buchanan I think. So you stand alongside those two, incredible achievement. 👏
@xDJGamingHDx@90MinuteCynic I wonder if the style is as much a result of his "win at all costs" mandate though, as well as obviously poor transfers, squad in need of reform, etc. No manager was going to suddenly start getting THIS team, which had gone stale under BR, to play free-flowing football
@darren6015@Scott_F_87@90MinuteCynic Fair enough, I also have mixed feelings about it & can see arguments for & against. I do think we could do really well under him IF we can properly strengthen in key areas. But no denying winning the title on last day and getting the double would be a glorious send-off
@darren6015@Scott_F_87@90MinuteCynic I mean, we certainly didn't start playing free-flowing football but his mandate was to rescue the season and get us winning again which he did. Rodgers' win percentage was 55.56% for this season (9 games), O’Neill's was 82.61% (23 games).
@darren6015@Scott_F_87@90MinuteCynic Personally, happy to have Scales and McCowan extend IF they are envisioned as squad players rather than guaranteed starters. Clearly McCowan is viewed as a squad player. I agree Scales shouldn't be our regular LCB.
@darren6015@Scott_F_87@90MinuteCynic Performances declined before he came in the building, the rot had set in under Rodgers. No-one can deny the transfer windows were rubbish but I don't think we lay the blame for that solely at O'Neill's door. Rodgers made several awful signings too.

@WilliamDettloff He was referring to Ali's bravery against Foreman but it could apply to many of his performances, the guy just had such deep reserves of courage, resilience and pride
@WilliamDettloff "For this witness at least the most vivid recollection will not be the inspiration of his tactics or the brilliance of his technique, spellbinding though they were. It will be the glittering, flawless diamond of his nerve.” Hugh McIlvanney
